The Kona Throw Down, held in Kona, Hawaii from July 6-10, is part of the Hawaii Marlin Tournament Series, a season-long billfishing competition featuring tag and release scoring for blue and striped marlin alongside weighed divisions for blue marlin and yellowfin tuna. Crews compete for optional jackpots and recognition as Top Boat, Top Angler, and holder of the Biggest Marlin title. The tournament draws the top Kona-based captains and anglers to one of the Pacific's most consistent marlin grounds.
